Fushimi Inari Temple
Fushimi Inari is one of Kyoto, if not all of Japan’s, most visited destinations. People folk year round, mostly in the daytime. Tourists avoid this temple is the nighttime making dusk an optimal time to capture the entrance without the typical crowds. This photo is a long exposure. Luckily, I was able to catch a moment when a couple of sightseers stopped to check out my set up. This gives this particular photo a sense of space where the shrine itself is prominent while also capturing that this is, in fact, a tourist spot. Imagine how full it is in the peak daytime.
This version, taken in Winter of 2024, is available 24”x 36” and “20 x 30” printed on Fine Art textured archival Giclée Fine Art Paper as Limited Edition Prints (each size limited to only 10 prints).
